What is Restylane®?
Restylane-L® is for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and skin that is sunken under the eyes. Restylane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a substance found naturally in youthful skin. Restylane® works by replenishing the skin’s hyaluronic acid, immediately increasing volume and filling out wrinkles.

How does Restylane® Work?
Restylane® is injected into the skin with an ultrafine needle to plump the skin to smooth away wrinkles and folds such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) or your lips.
It’s the preferred dermal filler for tear troughs – those heavy circles under the eyes that give the tired appearance.
How long does Restylane® last?
Restylane® effects generally last six months and gradually disappears from the body. If you are treated again at 4 1⁄2 or 9 months after your first treatment, Restylane® can last up to 18 months.
What Are Restylane® Results?
Like all injectable fillers, Restylane may require touch-up treatments. The duration or results vary, and your medical provider will be able to provide a more specific timeline based on your treatment.
What can I expect?
Before being treated with Restylane®, you should take a few precautions. Prior to treatment, avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements.
After Restylane injections, you may experience swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness.
It is important to remember how much filler is actually in a syringe when thinking about how much you will need to treat the areas you are concerned with. The cheeks usually range from 2-3cc per side depending on the level of fullness required for mid face lifting.
